Meet Dolly.

Dolly and her brother were found in Georgetown and brought in by a good Samaritan. Her brother had a mild URI and was able to go to a regular foster home, but Dolly was suffering so badly that she was rushed to the emergency vet.

The first vet that she was taken to took one look at her and told us she was "not worth saving". We disagreed!

Instead we brought her to Central Texas Emergency Vet, where she was put in an oxygen chamber, given an IV catheter, was syringe-fed around the clock and given eye drops to try to stem the infection in her eyes.

After a week of 24/7 care she was able to come home to a foster home and be treated there. This little fighter was still feeling crummy, but with a lot of love, a lot of medication, and a lot of work she finally started feeling better.

Once she was completely healthy, we visited Eye Care for Animals, where she was diagnosed definitively with feline herpes virus and had her eyes checked out. Damaged from the original infection, her vision is as good as it is going to get -- one eye is smaller than the other and both have some scarring, but she can see her world well enough to live life to the fullest!

She is now in a forever home where she is loved and spoiled!

The total for Dolly’s medical care was $2,404.77.
