Meet Jude.
Jude was brought to the shelter with his four siblings, but while the rest of the group was robust and healthy, he was extremely emaciated, dehydrated, and having severe and bloody diarrhea. He was separated from the rest of the group and sent to a medical foster for one-on-one care and monitoring.
After a visit to the vet, he was put on dewormers as well as antibiotics for the diarrhea. In addition, it was noticed that he consistently had more rapid breathing than typically seen in a kitten so he was scheduled for an echocardiogram to check his heart and determine if any action needed to be taken there.
With consistent care and a specialty high-calorie diet, his diarrhea resolved and he began to put on much-needed weight. The echocardiogram showed no evidence of heart disease or anything else concerning, so he was made available for adoption along with his friend and fellow foster kitten Delker.
Because of his great story, he was even featured on Wednesday Friendsday on CBS! You can watch his appearance here.
He and Delker ended up being adopted together!
His total bill was $868.59.
