Meet Maddie.
Maddie was found wandering the streets of Georgetown by an Animal Control Officer and brought first to the emergency vet and then taken into the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter system.
Although we will never know what actually happened, by the time she got to us she had a very injured paw including a degloved toe that required daily hydrotherapy and bandage changes. With help from Firehouse Animal Health Center Leander, it was determined that a toe amputation was all that was needed to get this girl on the right track.
After weeks of hydrotherapy and regular bandage changes (which she complained about every time, without fail), her paw was healed enough for her degloved toe to be safely removed through surgery. Dr. Mendoza with Firehouse Animal Health Center Leander handled the procedure, and Maddie woke up not even knowing what she was missing — but VERY glad to be done with the bandages!
She now lives with her two forever humans and a sweet doggy sister.
Maddie’s total bill was $412.30
