Meet Scotty.

Scotty presented at the animal shelter with liquid diarrhea - he was leaking so constantly that on the way from the shelter to the vet, his foster mom had to change out the blankets underneath him multiple times. Firehouse Animal Health Center Leander was able to squeeze him in for an emergency visit, where they sent off a fecal and ran a panleukopenia test (both ended up being negative). In addition to his tummy troubles, he was covered in fleas and slightly anemic, and had eye discharge in addition to a spot of ringworm on his ear. In other words, he was a mess.

After the negative fecal and panleuk test results, he was put on prescription gastrointestinal food, probiotics, as well as eye drops to clear up any infection of the eyes. For the ringworm spot, he was put on a regime of Itrafungol and a spot-treatment cream.

After a bath and a few days of better food and eye medication, he was a new kitty! His coat fluffed out and grew shiny, his eyes cleared up, and his tummy began to settle down. Three weeks later the ringworm was gone as well and he was made available for adoption.

He now lives in his forever home with his mom and kitty sister.

His final total bill was $609.75.
